Our Heritage and Passion
Welcome to Oasis! A hidden gem in the heart of Imperial Beach.
Our opening began with our founder Juan Andrade, who came to San Diego in 1969 with his aspirations in mind: to live the AMERICAN DREAM, and sharing his delectable treats with all of you. He opened the ice cream parlor in 1978 with his wife Juanita, and though struggle was first to come, it soon became the success story you can see today!
We want you to know that he would not refer to you as his "customers", but rather considered you all family. He would recall stories about you and your families, knowing you by your first names every time you walked through the door. He loved teasing everyone, and we are sure some of you have probably been the center of one of his pranks (and of course got your little extra scoop on top in exchange). His home was this little shop, and we hope to welcome both returning patrons and newcomers in his passing.
Oasis is still family owned, actively run by Juanita and her children. Pop in if you can and have a chat with the youngest, Gerardo! We hope to maintain the quality homemade ice cream, and preserve the sincerity in caring for each and every one of you!
